With the ongoing school budget crisis, PTA plays
a crucial role in helping fill the gaps and supporting
our excellent staff and students achieve their very
best. Our current fundraisers include:
Magazine Sale
The PTA sponsors one main fundraiser during the year,
the fall Magazine Sale, which supports the bulk
of our budget. (The PTA budget is approved by
members at the September meeting.) Thanks
to co-chairs Kathy Hogan & Richelle Jones,
and all the volunteers who made this year’s
sale another great success! We have raised very
close to our $30,000 profit goal. Online sales

Chinook Books
Thanks to new parent Martha Johansen, we are trying
a new fundraiser this fall: the Chinook Book.
We earn $10 of each $20 book sold! These coupon
books pay for themselves and make a great gift.
Chinook Books are available anytime in the school
office, at PTA events and PTA meetings. The sale
will go through November.
T-shirt sale
While intended mainly as a school spirit-raiser,
we earn some money from sales of official RGMS
logo merchandise. In addition, PTA donated T-shirts
to all RGMS staff.
T-shirts and sweatshirts are sold in the fall and
spring. Big thanks to Liz Loughney for coordinating
the sale, and to Joe Misclevitz for our nifty design.
“Passive” fundraisers
What is a “passive” fundraiser? This
is when a business agrees to donate a percentage
of their sales to our school. When you shop or dine
at the business, RGMS PTA benefits, and you are spending
money you would have spent anyway. Best of all, we
don’t have to spend a lot of volunteer time
organizing a big event. It’s a win-win!
Here are our current “passive” fundraisers:
Albertsons
Cards -- We earn several thousand $$$
a year by RGMS families doing their regular shopping
at Albertsons. Get an Albertsons card in the school
office and have it scanned to link with your Albertsons
card, or go
online to register. Our school
code is 49000100116. This is a great program!
eScrip.com -- Sign up at www.escrip.com and
register to have your purchases benefit Robert
Gray. Our Group ID number is 8562842. Participating
stores include Safeway, Market of Choice, & Zupans.
